Kanpur, 03 December (HS). Ayush Pandey and Aditya Singh have been selected to represent the city in the state's under-16 cricket team. In the 18-member team announced for the Vijay Merchant Trophy, Ayush has been kept as a part of the main team, while Aditya Singh has been kept as a net bowler.
According to the information shared by State Cricket Association Secretary Arvind Srivastava, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) on Tuesday announced its 18-member team for BCCI's Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy. Five additional net bowlers have been included in the team. The Uttar Pradesh team has left today for the first match against Gujarat on 6th December in Gwalior. The dominance of Western UP was visible in the selected team of Uttar Pradesh. Maximum five players from Ghaziabad, two each from Gautam Budh Nagar Noida, Saharanpur, Meerut and one each from Moradabad, Agra, Azamgarh, Bulandshahr, Lucknow and Allahabad have got the opportunity.

The secretary said that the team includes Alok Ratan (Agra), Aviral Saxena, Shantanu Singh, Hrithik Singh, Slok Dinesh Sharma, Siddhant Punetha (all Ghaziabad), Yuvraj Singh Tomar, Sarthak Chechi (both Gautam Buddha Nagar), Aryan Tyagi, Arnav Som ( Both Meerut), Mohd. Anas, Vansh Chaudhary (both Saharanpur), Kushal Yadav (Moradabad), Ayush Pandey (Kanpur), Aditya Yadav (Azamgarh), Saurabh Sharma (Bulandshahr), Rajveer Singh (Lucknow), Sanidhya Srivastava (Allahabad). Whereas as a net bowler, Mohd. Arshaman (Firozabad), Vidhan Gangwar (Bareilly), Monu Kumar (Meerut), Aditya Singh (Kanpur), Aryan Umrao (Fatehpur) have been included.
