Champions Trophy 2025: "Cricket with foreign policy..." Will Team India go to Pakistan? Former Indian cricketer gave this answer

Champions Trophy 2025: ICC Champions Trophy is to be organized in Pakistan next year and now less than 100 days are left for it. But there are many questions whether this tournament will be held in Pakistan or not, whether India will agree to play or not, whether Pakistan will agree to the ICC or not. After not getting permission from the Indian government to go to Pakistan, BCCI has written a mail to ICC stating its stand that Team India will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. ICC has forwarded this mail to Pakistan Cricket Board.

The latest update on this matter is that Pakistan Cricket Board has sought a reply from ICC and asked the reason for India's objection. Let us tell you, due to strained relations between the two countries, India has not visited Pakistan since 2008. More than a decade has passed and now both the countries play each other only in ICC tournaments.

If reports are to be believed, India has talked about a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy. But Pakistan Cricket Board is not ready for this. On the other hand, in such a situation, ICC has prepared Plan B to hold the tournament in South Africa instead of Pakistan. However, Pakistan has threatened in such a situation that it will boycott the tournament if it is stripped of its hosting rights. He has also said that he will keep himself away from any ICC tournament to be held in India.

There is a situation of confusion regarding the Champions Trophy and regarding this, former Indian Test cricketer Rajesh Chauhan, while talking to NDVT, has said that when India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had recently gone to Pakistan, then why not the Pakistan Cricket Board? delegation met him. Rajesh Chauhan said, “This is a long debate. The question is, what was the conversation between them before the allotment of the Champions Trophy. Or why did Pakistan not keep its conditions when the Champions Trophy was allotted?”

Rajesh Chauhan further said, “Recently our Foreign Minister S Jaishankar ji had gone to Pakistan, he knew that the Champions Trophy was about to come. So why didn't any delegation meet him and talk to him after taking special permission?” Rajesh Chauhan further said, “His team came here after playing and went away, now if we have to go then talks are being held for us, so I say somewhere this thing, when you line up first, then put terms and conditions.” It should be given that if this happens then it will not happen. Now let's find an option on time that if we will not go to India then we will go to some other third country, what is the option.”

On this matter, when senior Pakistani journalist Arzoo Kazmi was asked what is the atmosphere in Pakistan during this deadlock, how are the people there seeing it, she said, “What is being discussed here is It is being said in our media and everywhere that India should come to play. For the reason of security that you people are giving, your doctor Jaishankar has also come to Pakistan.

Arzoo Kazmi further said, “The media team had also reached Pakistan along with him and there were many good people who had come to Pakistan, just a few days ago in Islamabad. So when they can come, they should not stay due to any security reason.” Then why only the cricket team? Apart from this, people from other sports also keep coming.”

Last year, Pakistan also had the rights to host the Asia Cup, but the Indian team did not go to Pakistan. India's matches in the Asia Cup were held in Sri Lanka instead of Pakistan. But this time the attitude of Pakistan Cricket Board does not seem that it will adopt hybrid model. Regarding what issue would get entangled in such a situation, Arzoo Kazmi said, “No, I don't see it getting entangled.”

Arzoo Kazmi said, “Because obviously, if India will not come and Pakistan will be asked and you will select some third venue, then you will have to go there. But the whole point is that your other sports are also being held in Pakistan.” If you check, be it tennis, badminton, recently Kabaddi was played on Kartarpur Corridor and many other sports are being held in Pakistan, then the objection coming from India is only more. People are also asking why she comes only for cricket.

The match between India and Pakistan is called the Mother of All-Match and fans eagerly wait for this match. This benefits the ICC as well as the broadcasters and other stakeholders. In such a situation, if the India-Pakistan match does not take place, then the Champions Trophy will have no meaning, regarding this Rajesh Chauhan said, “All are members of the ICC. You have made the ICC such a board. I say that whenever it is a matter of That thing should be clear there, you cannot leave that thing at the level of any country or at the board level of the country that our country is not giving permission.

Rajesh Chauhan further said, “We have probably linked cricket with our foreign policy. This means that we have kept the way for us to talk to each other open somewhere, we also have to understand this a little. ” Rajesh Chauhan further said, “We should play among ourselves, now where to play, where not to play, what decision will be taken will depend on the ICC board.”
