Rohit praised Bumrah, raised questions on the rest of the team
In the press conference after the match, Rohit Sharma said, “Bumrah cannot always take wickets for the team. In such a situation, other bowlers will also have to take responsibility. It is not the responsibility of only Bumrah or any one player. If we want to win the Test or series. If we want, everyone will have to contribute.”
Talking about Jasprit Bumrah's performance and workload management, Rohit Sharma said, “This is a five-match series. We have to keep Bumrah fit for every match. In such a situation, it is important to plan his bowling overs properly.”
Rohit showed confidence in new players
In bowling, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj took four wickets each in the first innings. However, young bowlers Harshit Rana and Nitish Reddy, playing their second Test, could not make an impact and could take only one wicket in 22 overs. Supporting these new players, Rohit said, “These young players are still trying to find their feet. They need confidence and experience, and it is my responsibility to give them this confidence.”
Travis Head was the hero of Adelaide Test
