IND vs NZ Test Big Blow For New Zealand: The first Test between India and New Zealand is to be played tomorrow i.e. Wednesday, October 16 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Just a day before the match, New Zealand suffered a big blow in the form of fast bowler Ben Sears. Injury ruled Sears out of the Test series against India.

In the update issued regarding Ben Sears, the New Zealand Cricket Board said that during practice during the recent Test series in Sri Lanka, Sears felt pain in his left knee and he was scanned in New Zealand last week.

It was further told that due to the scan, he was delayed in going to India. After the injury was detected in the scan, it was hoped that the first available medical advice would be sought so that he might recover. However, this did not happen and after medical advice he was dropped from the series.

Jacob Duffy replaced Ben Sears

Jacob Duffy was included in the team as a replacement after Ben Sears suffered an injury. Jacob has played ODI and T20 International for New Zealand, but he has not made his Test debut yet. In such a situation, he may get a chance to make his Test debut during the India tour. Now it will be interesting to see how this series goes for Jacob.

Has experience of playing more than 100 first class matches

Even though 30-year-old Jacob Duffy has not played international level red ball cricket, he has experience of playing more than 100 first class matches. Till now Jacob has played 102 first class matches. In 172 innings of these matches, he has taken 299 wickets at an average of 32.64. For this, he scored 1351 runs while batting in 143 innings.
