Gaya has become the all-over champion in the state level school cricket boys sports competition being run under the joint aegis of Bihar State Sports Authority, Sports Department Bihar and Begusarai District Administration. Gaya won by 5 wickets in the final match played at Gandhi Stadium today.
In the final match, Begusarai team won the toss and batted first and were all out after scoring 121 runs in 19.2 overs. Jayant scored the maximum 33 runs for Begusarai. Vikas, who bowled most lethally for the Gaya team, took 4 wickets for 10 runs in four overs and was chosen Man of the Match. Whereas, Kush Aryan took 2 wickets for the team.

In response to the target in the second innings, the team scored the required runs in 18.4 overs and won by 5 wickets. For Gaya, Abhishek scored a brilliant 48 runs and Rajkumar scored 27 runs. While bowling, Avneesh got two wickets for Begusarai.
The trophy was jointly awarded to the winning and runner-up teams by Land Reforms Deputy Collector-cum-Physical Education Deputy Superintendent Aishwarya Kashyap and RPF Barauni Battalion Commandant Diganjay Sharma. The Commandant thanked Bihar Government and Begusarai District Administration for organizing this wonderful cricket competition.

Physical teachers worked day and night to successfully organize the sports competition. Teams from 38 districts from all over Bihar were participating in this tournament. Mrityunjay Kumar Veeresh, Secretary of Begusarai District Cricket Association was also present on this occasion. The role of Vishwajeet Kumar, Arvind Kumar, Brajesh, Deepak, Chiranjeevi, Shashikant, Shubham, Ritesh and Manikant etc. in organizing the tournament was commendable.
