BPL 2025 Foreign Players Not Paid Yet: Bangladesh Premier League 2025 is going to start from 30th December. In which seven teams are participating. Before the start of this new season, a big controversy related to BPL 2024 has come to light. In which BPL has been accused that the wages of foreign players i.e. their salaries have not been paid yet. For which many foreign players have applied to the World Cricket Association (WCA).
Before the start of the BPL 2025 season, the World Cricketers Association has written a letter to the BPL management urging them to immediately settle the pending payments of 15 foreign players. Complaints have been received from the players regarding delay in payment and in some cases non-payment, the total amount of which is about 3.5 lakh US dollars (about Rs 2.9 crore).
In a Cricbuzz report, a source told that the outstanding payment of these players is with a franchise of the last season, which is not participating in BPL this year. It is believed that this team is one of Comilla Victorians, Chattogram Challengers or Durdanto Dhaka, which took part in the last season, but will not be present this season. About 1 lakh US dollars (about Rs 84 lakh) is outstanding on this franchise alone.
WCA Chief Executive Officer Tom Moffatt has expressed his concern on this issue. He said, “Since the last season of BPL, many players have complained about delayed and non-payment of payments. This problem is seen not only in BPL but also in the wider cricket world and we urge the leadership of the game to We want this to be resolved as soon as possible.”
BPL Governing Council Member Secretary Nazmul Abedin said that the pending payment of foreign players is their priority and work is underway to resolve the issue. According to Nazmul, the CEO of BPL is personally looking into the matter and will give an appropriate reply soon.
