Bangladesh team announced for the first test against South Africa, this veteran player will play farewell match

Shakib Al Hasan was given a place in the first match of the 2-match Test series against South Africa. With this match, Shakib will say goodbye to Test cricket.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is ready to play his last match in Test cricket in front of the home crowd and has been included in the Bangladesh team for the first match against South Africa starting here from Monday. Before the second and final Test against India in Kanpur, Shakib had expressed his desire to play his final Test against South Africa on home soil.

Provided that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) ensures their safety. Shakib has been accused of being involved in the murder of a student. But this experienced Bangladesh player was participating in a T20 league in Canada at the time of the incident.

BCB's new president Farooq Ahmed had rejected Shakib's request saying that the board is not a security agency and it cannot guarantee him any kind of security. Asif Mahmood, sports advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, said that Shakib will be given security only then.
