JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar Merger: Jio Cinema has been providing free live streams of many major cricket events in India including IPL. Actually, Reliance's deal with Disney + Hotstar is almost complete and both the OTT apps can be merged in the coming days. After which Jio Cinema is likely to shut down the app.

According to reports, Reliance Industries also wants to establish its dominance in the OTT segment. Both Jio Cinema and Disney + Hotstar OTT apps will work together. After which it can also become India's largest OTT platform. It is being told that the final draft of this deal between Reliance and Disney + Hotstar has almost been completed. An official announcement regarding this will be made in the coming days.
Earlier there were reports that after the deal, movies and other entertainment shows will be shown on Jio Cinema, while sports events will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. However, now it is being said that Jio Cinema app will be completely closed. This will be a big shock for those users who are enjoying movies or live cricket matches on Jio Cinema for free. Let us tell you that Jio Cinema has 10 crore downloads on Google Playstore and Disney + Hotstar has 50 crore downloads. The number of paid subscribers is also decent.
