Babar could score only 37 runs
Australia captain won the toss and decided to bowl first. Abdullah Shafiq and Saim Ayub started the innings and Mitchell Starc gave a double blow to Pakistan by sending both of them to the pavilion. Babar Azam took over the innings with captain Mohammad Rizwan but the pair could not score much runs and the partnership broke at the score of 63. Babar was bowled by Adam Zampa after scoring 37 runs in 44 balls. After this, Kamran Ghulam 5 and Agha Salman also returned to the pavilion cheaply.
Starc took 3 wickets
Thanks to the innings of Irfan Khan, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, Pakistan was successful in reaching beyond 200. Naseem Shah played an innings of 40 runs in 39 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 1 four and returned to the pavilion after giving a cat to Mitchell Starc on the ball of Pat Cummins. Starc took 3 wickets while Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa took 2-2 wickets. Sean Abbott and Marnus Labuschagne also got one success each.
