Adelaide:
Aus vs Ind 2nd Test: There is a lot of resentment among the Indian former greats after the crushing defeat by ten wickets in the pink-ball test that ended in Adelaide on Sunday. More disappointment and resentment are visible than anger. And this is also true because after the spectacular win by 295 runs in Perth, no one had thought that India would be in such a condition. Now, after the early end of the pink ball Test, Gavaskar has advised the players to use the remaining two extra days instead of wasting time in the hotel, so that the visiting team can make a comeback in the third Test. India's weakness was completely exposed by the 10-wicket defeat in the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The match ended in less than two and a half days as Australia made a comeback to level the five-match series 1–1.

Gavaskar told the official broadcaster, 'Look at the remaining part of the series as a three-match series. Forget that this was a five-Test series. I would like the Indian team to use the next few days for practice. He said, 'This is very important. You cannot sit in your hotel room or wherever you are going because you have come here to play cricket. Gavaskar said, 'You do not need to practice the whole day. You can practice at whatever time you want, in the morning or afternoon. But don't waste these days. If the Test match had lasted for five days, you would have been playing a Test match here. The third Test will start from December 14 and Gavaskar said that Indians should use the time in between to get their rhythm back.
The former captain said, 'You have to give yourself more time to get into the rhythm because you have not been able to score runs. Your bowlers have not found rhythm. There are some other players also who need playing time at the crease. Gavaskar said, “He does not believe in the idea of alternative practice sessions and the decision should be taken solely by the captain and the coach, not the players.”
Sunny said, 'This alternative practice session is something that I do not believe in. The decision on alternative training should be taken by the captain and coach. The coach should say, 'Hey, you have scored 150 runs, you don't need to come for practice. Hey, you have bowled 40 overs in the match, you don't need to come for practice. Gavaskar said, 'He should not be given an option. If you give players this option, many of them will say, 'No, I will stay in my room.' And Indian cricket does not need this.
He reminded the players that playing for India is a privilege and they should do it wholeheartedly. Gavaskar said, 'Indian cricket needs people who are completely dedicated to their cause. It is an honor and a privilege to play for India. Gavaskar said, 'I counted how many days he would stay here. There are 57 days in Australia. Out of those 57 days, if you leave five matches, you are left with 32 days. Two matches for Prime Minister's XI. He was going to take leave for thirty days. He got an extra day off in Perth and now has two days off in Adelaide. I request them to please come and practice.
