Unique Cricket Records: Hitting double century has become a common thing in modern cricket. There is such an abundance of talent that many times a double century is seen every week. But there was a time when a double century would create panic all over the world. During that period, India's lethal all-rounder Ravi Shastri made a world record of double century which remained for 33 years.
Shastri was showered badly
The date is 10th January and the year 1985, when Ravi Shastri created awe in world cricket by doing wonders in first class cricket. He had made the record of fastest double century in terms of time. Shastri, playing for Bombay, took only 113 minutes to complete his double century against Baroda. Many double centuries were seen after him but no one could break this record of Shastri for 32 years.
Afghanistan player demolished
This record is now registered in the name of Afghanistan batsman Shafiqullah. While playing for Kabul Region in 2017-18, he scored a double century in just 103 minutes. It has been 5 years since this record was made, but till now no batsman has been seen anywhere near it.
6 sixes were hit in one over
In the same match, Ravi Shastri created havoc on the field by hitting 6 sixes in a single over. He had taken Baroda spinner Tilak Raj on remand. Ravi Shastri earned a lot of name in international cricket also. But he said goodbye to international cricket at the age of just 30. Ravi Shastri had scored 3830 runs in 80 test matches with the help of 11 centuries and 12 half-centuries. At the same time, 151 wickets are registered in his name. In ODIs, he scored 3108 runs with four centuries and also took 129 wickets. He was one of the top all-rounders in the world.
