Ranchi/Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently made important changes in the rules of domestic cricket. Now if any player applies saliva on the ball, action will be taken against him. Also, a player who is retired hurt will not be given an opportunity to play again, and will be considered out. These new rules have been implemented ahead of the new season of Ranji Trophy 2024, and there are some conditions related to them.

Changes to rules regarding retired Hurts players

According to the report of Cricbuzz, BCCI has changed the rules regarding retired hurt players. Now if a player goes out of the field due to injury, he will be immediately considered out and he will not be able to come to bat again. Consent of the opposing team will not be required in this process. BCCI has sent a press release to the state teams informing them about all the new rules.

Action on applying saliva on the ball

Many changes have been made in cricket after the Covid-19 pandemic. Now BCCI is implementing strict rules in domestic cricket also. If a player applies saliva to the ball, he will face a penalty, and the ball will be immediately replaced.

Change in run stopping rules

The rules for stopping runs have also been changed. According to the new rules, when the batsman decides to stop the run after crossing, in case of a boundary resulting from an overthrow, it will only be considered a boundary. Before this change, only four runs would be given before crossing. Through these new rules, an effort has been made to maintain the quality of the game and bring clarity.
