Before this, Jharkhand team had also entered the Buchi Babu Tournament under the captaincy of Ishan Kishan. Ranji Trophy is starting from October 11 and Jharkhand's first match is against Assam. The elite group in which Jharkhand is included includes teams from Assam, Railways, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Saurashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu.

Last time he went on a tour to Africa, where he withdrew from that tour citing mental stress as the reason. After this, he was shown the way out of the central contract list, since then till now he is looking for a way to return to Team India.
