This reflects the special cricket bond between the two countries. Chris Gayle and Neeraj Chopra were invited to PM Modi's lunch organized in honor of the Jamaican PM. In a statement issued to the media, PM Modi said that he and Holness also discussed regional and global issues and agreed that all tensions and disputes should be resolved through dialogue. He said that both sides will continue to work together towards ensuring global peace and security.

PM Modi said that India and Jamaica are unanimous that reform is necessary in all global institutions including the United Nations Security Council. He said India has been a 'reliable and committed' development partner in Jamaica's development journey and will remain so in the future. “We stand ready to share our experience with Jamaica in the areas of digital public infrastructure, biofuels, innovation, health, education and agriculture,” he said. “In the defense sector, we will move forward on training and capacity building of the Jamaican Armed Forces,” he said.

The Prime Minister described organized crime, drug trafficking and terrorism as common challenges faced by both the countries. He said India-Jamaica relations are based on shared history, democratic values ​​and strong people-to-people ties. Holness reached India on Monday. This is the first bilateral visit by a Jamaican Prime Minister to India.
