What is the news?

In any Test match, any team can bat in a maximum of 2 innings.

In such a situation, any team has a chance to make a comeback in the second innings after failing in the first innings.

However, on some occasions teams fail in both the innings.

So far in the golden history of Test cricket, selected teams have been all out twice within a single day.

Let us know about those matches.

India (vs England, 1952)

In the year 1952, in the Manchester Test, the England cricket team defeated the Indian cricket team by an innings and 207 runs.

England declared their first innings at 347/9 in the match.

The Indian team, captained by Vijay Hazare, was bundled out for 58 runs in its first innings. After this, while playing fall on, it was reduced to only 82 runs in the second innings.

Both India's innings were out during the third day of the match itself.

Zimbabwe (vs New Zealand, 2005)

The Test played between Zimbabwe and New Zealand in 2005 ended within 2 days.

In that match held in Harare, the Kiwi team declared its first innings at 452/9.

After this, during the second day, Zimbabwe's first innings collapsed for 59 runs and the second innings collapsed for 99 runs.

New Zealand won by an innings and 294 runs, with Daniel Vettori scoring a century (127) and bowling brilliantly (2/1 and 4/28).

Zimbabwe (vs New Zealand, 2012)

In the 2012 Napier Test, New Zealand defeated Zimbabwe by an innings and 301 runs.

In the match, the Kiwi team declared its first innings on the score of 495/7.

In response, during the second day, Zimbabwe scored 51 and 143 runs in both its innings respectively.

In Zimbabwe's first innings, 10 batsmen could not even reach double figures.

Chris Martin bowled lethally for the hosts (2/5 and 6/26).

Afghanistan (vs India, 2018)

In 2018, India defeated Afghanistan cricket team by an innings and 218 runs in the only Test.

In that match held in Bengaluru, the host team had scored 474 runs thanks to Shikhar Dhawan's century (107).

In reply, Afghanistan's first innings was reduced to 109 during the second day. After this, while playing follow-on, the Afghan team was bundled out for 103 runs in its second innings.

Ravindra Jadeja bowled well (2/18 and 4/17).
