Jersey number 33 will be retired, star player had passed away, County Cricket Club announced in memory

County Cricket: The joy of playing cricket gives a different kind of comfort. But many times this game has also taken the lives of the players. Josh Baker of England also proved to be an example of this. Who died suddenly in May. Now County Cricket Club Worcestershire has made a big announcement in his memory. The number 33 shirt will be retired in memory of Josh Baker. Baker had made valuable contributions to this team.

How was the performance?

Baker proved to be a talented and dedicated domestic player for England. He took 43 wickets in 22 first class matches for Worcestershire. He took 27 wickets in 25 white-ball matches for the club. Apart from this, represented England twice at Under-19 level. He produced an all-round performance of 3 wickets and 66 runs in the first innings of Worcestershire's four-day 2nd XI Championship match against Somerset at Bromsgrove School. He died suddenly on 2 May due to heart problem. After which the match was canceled early on the last day.

County Cricket Club announced

Ashley Giles, CEO of County Club Worcestershire, said in memory of Josh Baker. 'Josh was not only a great cricketer but also an extraordinary person. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of our club and everyone who knew him. Retiring the number 33 shirt for the first time in our club's history ensures that his memory and contribution will never be forgotten. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Full support to the family

Baker's number 33 jersey will be permanently displayed in a frame at the Graeme Hick Pavilion as part of the club's tribute. The club has also given full support to his family and consoled them. The club said Josh's parents, Paul and Lisa, have also been awarded life memberships, ensuring they will always be part of the Worcestershire family.
