Before the second Test against Bangladesh, Akash said, “When I came here, I saw a different level of dedication and hard work of cricketers like Rohit, Virat (Kohli) bhai, the great players of the game and those who are considered the Gods of cricket.” He said, “I realized that they have achieved a lot and are still working hard during training. Their thought process is at a different level and it inspires me to work even harder.”
Akash has suffered a lot in his personal life. He lost his father and brother within two months. Perhaps those difficult circumstances made him mentally strong and this quality is important to withstand the pressure of international cricket. He said that when he came to the Indian team, the simple way of working of captain Rohit Sharma made things easy for him.
Akash said, 'I was initially hesitant that there would be pressure but Rohit Bhaiya made things so simple. I had never played under such a helpful captain. He keeps things simple, I never felt whether I was playing domestic cricket or international cricket. ' Akash said that he is ready for the challenges ahead. He said, 'The domestic format itself is so good that by the time you reach this stage, you already know what to do. You know what is expected of you. There is no such doubt. '
