Virat Kohli name in Delhi Ranji Trophy 2024-25 player List: There is a sensation in the cricket world once again. There is a discussion whether Virat Kohli is returning to Ranji Trophy after 12 years? A list was released by Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on 24 September 2024. This list contains the names of 84 potential players for Ranji Trophy. One name in this has created a stir among cricket fans. The name of Indian cricket's legendary batsman Virat Kohli is also included in this list.

Actually, Kohli last participated in the Ranji Trophy about 12 years ago and now many questions are being raised about his return. Especially speculations are being made about whether Kohli will really play in this 2024-25 Ranji Trophy or not.

There is doubt over Kohli playing Ranji Trophy
The DDCA meeting was attended by president Gursharan Singh, selectors K Bhaskar Pillai and Rajiv Vinayak, besides head coach Sarandeep Singh and joint secretary Rajan Manchanda. The meeting has further fuelled discussions and expectations about Kohli's possible return to Delhi's domestic cricket. However, Virat Kohli's participation in the Ranji Trophy remains in doubt given his busy international schedule, especially the Test series against New Zealand starting on October 16.

Rishabh Pant is also included in the list
Rishabh Pant, the player who scored the fastest century in the history of Ranji Trophy, is also included in this list. Pant's explosive batting and game changer ability can strengthen the Delhi team. If he comes into form, it will prove to be a big advantage for Delhi. But it remains to be seen whether Rishabh Pant gets a place in the Indian team against New Zealand or not. If Rishabh Pant remains out of the Indian team against New Zealand, only then can he get a place in the Delhi team for the Ranji Trophy.

Virat Kohli will not participate in fitness test
A statement issued by the Delhi Cricket Board (DDCA) said, “The probable players for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season 2024-25 have been selected for the Delhi Senior Men's team. The fitness test for the selected players will be conducted on September 26, 2024, the venue of which will be announced later.”

However, players who are on international tours are exempted from this fitness test.
