Ravichandran Ashwin: Indian team’s star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is in excellent form. In the first Test against Bangladesh, he led his team to victory with his all-round performance. Then Ashwin scored a century in the first innings and took 6 wickets in the second innings. Ashwin is counted among the world’s greatest spinners and it is not easy to escape his clever bowling in Test cricket. His carrom ball is also unmatched.

Golden opportunity to complete 100 wickets in the fourth innings of the test

Ravichandran Ashwin has so far taken a total of 99 wickets in the fourth innings of Test cricket. Now if he takes one more wicket in the fourth innings of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, he will complete his 100 wickets in the fourth innings of Test cricket and score a special century. He will become the first Indian bowler to do so. In the history of Test cricket, only five bowlers have been able to take more than 100 wickets in the fourth innings of a Test. These include Shane Warne, Nathan Lyon, Rangana Herath, Muttiah Muralitharan and Glenn McGrath.

List of bowlers who have taken the most wickets in the fourth innings of Test cricket:

Shane Warne (Australia) – 138

Nathan Lyon (Australia) – 119
Rangana Herath (Sri Lanka) – 115
Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka) – 106
Glenn McGrath (Australia) – 103
Ravichandran Ashwin (India)- 99

can leave Nathan Lyon behind

Ravichandran Ashwin has taken a total of 522 wickets in 101 Test matches so far. In the second Test match against Bangladesh, he will have a chance to surpass Australia’s star spinner Nathan Lyon. For this, Ashwin will have to take 9 wickets in the second Test. Lyon has 530 wickets in Test cricket. Ashwin is currently the 8th highest wicket-taker in Test cricket.

By winning the second test match against Bangladesh, the Indian team will kill two birds with one stone. Firstly, it will clean sweep the series 2-0. Apart from this, it will go ahead of Pakistan in terms of winning the most number of test matches against Bangladesh. Both India and Pakistan have won a total of 12 test matches against Bangladesh so far.
