Dr. Ram Kishore Upadhyay
Bangladesh has now become a hell for the non-Muslim communities i.e. minorities. Since the number of Hindus is more among the minorities, the violence and riots affect the Hindus the most. There was a time when the number of Hindus in Bangladesh used to be about 22 percent. But today this number has come down to about eight percent or even less. Why? Experts say that if Jihad continues like this, then by 2050 Bangladesh will be devoid of Hindus. Here Hindu-less does not mean only Hindus but Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians, all. If strict steps are not taken soon by the United Nations, then all of them will slowly be wiped out. Some will be killed, some will be converted and some will be chased away or will run away on their own.
There is also a question that the number of Hindus decreased by 14 percent within no time and there was no stir, no reaction or protest in the world. If a Muslim is murdered in India then without knowing whether the deceased was guilty or innocent, whether the murder was due to personal enmity or some other reason, Jihadis declare all Hindus of India intolerant. Many Muslim countries protested. I am not supporting any murder here, what I mean to say is that on the murder of one person there are protests all over the world and here 14 percent of the population was wiped out by killing and there is no stir, movement or intolerance in the world, why?
What I mean to say is that today, when Hindus are being killed in Bangladesh, what are we Indians doing? We are playing cricket with Bangladesh! This dullness, cruelty and escapism only encourages Jihadis to do Jihad and fundamentalists to persecute Hindus. Everyone knows the popularity of cricket in India. The first match of the T-20 series between India and Bangladesh is going to be held on 6 October in the newly built stadium of Gwalior. Many organizations in Gwalior are opposing this match. It is also being opposed in large numbers on social media. If this match is cancelled, then the message will go to the whole world that the people of India are opposing the atrocities being committed on minorities in Bangladesh. Those opposing the match argue that this will strengthen the demand of the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Oikyo Council in which the council is demanding an impartial investigation of the current violence from the United Nations. Everyone knows that the terrorists of Bangladesh want to suppress the discussion of this violence. The communist media and intellectuals want to change the issue by giving it the form of political violence. Islamists and communists together are trying to prove it as a property dispute instead of communal or Islamic violence. In such a situation, it is not right for India to play cricket with Bangladesh, at least at this time. This may weaken the fight of the minorities there.
The irony is that Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and Sikhs are being targeted there. Religious places of all are being destroyed. Houses of all are being set on fire. But the Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and Sikhs of India are not protesting against this terrorism together, why? Although Sikhs have protested, but not as much as was expected. Appeals are also being made on social media that Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and Sikhs should come together and stand in support of the minorities of Bangladesh and demand the cancellation of this match. Only time will tell whether this protest will lead to the cancellation of the match or not, but one thing is very positive in this protest and that is that all the non-Islamic people of Bangladesh are together looking towards India with hopeful eyes. But in India, the radical Islamist and communist alliance is so active that it tries to suppress every voice that is raised in favor of Hindus.
People may have different opinions in favour and against the match but the appropriateness of the timing is questionable. Suppose this incident had happened in Pakistan instead of Bangladesh. There, Hindu villages would have been burnt in the same way, Hindu women would have been raped, temples would have been destroyed (as happens there too). Then would India have played the match with Pakistan in the same way? Would the people of India have welcomed Pakistani cricketers with such warmth? If not, then how can the Bangladeshi players be welcomed before this terrorism sponsored by Pakistan is stopped?
