Why Mohammed Shami Will Not be able to Play Any Match In BGT : Indian cricket team's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been away from international cricket for a long time. This veteran Bengal bowler had suffered an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup last year. Apart from this injury, he was also troubled by a knee injury. Due to this injury, Mohammed Shami missed many bilateral series in international cricket as well as IPL and ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
This veteran fast bowler recently returned to Ranji Trophy after staying away from cricket for almost a year. On his return, he bowled brilliantly and took 7 wickets. After this, Mohammed Shami is playing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy these days and looks completely fit.
Why is Mohammed Shami not able to return, captain Rohit gave the reason
Seeing the way Mohammed Shami's fitness and form is visible in domestic cricket after returning to the cricket field after a year, there have been reports of him being sent on a tour of Australia. Everyone is believing that Shami can be given a ticket to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But these legendary fast bowlers will hardly be able to play in this series. Why so, the answer was given by captain Rohit Sharma himself.
Rohit Sharma said- We want to be careful about his injury
Team India captain Rohit Sharma said in the press conference after the defeat in the Adelaide Test match that,
“We are just keeping an eye on him because his knee got swollen while playing Syed Mushtaq Ali, which is hampering his preparation to play the Test match. We want to be very careful, we do not bring him here Want, because they get hurt or something else happens.
After this the hitman quoted Hindustan Times as saying,
“We want to be more than 100 per cent sure about him because it's been a long time. We don't want to put pressure on him to come here and work for the team. There are some professionals monitoring us, we will take a decision based on their experience.” They are the ones who see him in every match, after bowling four overs, how he plays after standing for 20 overs. But the doors of Team India are always open for him.
