Jay Shah visited the office for the first time after becoming ICC chief

ICC Chairman Jay Shah Visiting Dubai Headquarters of International Cricket Council: Newly elected ICC President Jay Shah began his tenure with a visit to the ICC headquarters in Dubai. He visited the ICC headquarters for the first time after taking charge as the chief. He also met the ICC Board of Directors and staff. Jay Shah officially takes over as Chairman of the International Cricket Council on 01 December 2024, marking a new chapter in global cricket governance. The former BCCI secretary has taken charge at a time when tensions are at its peak between the cricket boards of Pakistan and India over the venue of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Let us tell you that Jay Shah described his visit as “productive and inspiring” and acknowledged the future possibilities. “I'm excited by what I've seen, but I think this is just the beginning,” he said. The hard work to take cricket to unprecedented heights begins now and I am confident that together we will achieve this goal.” Meanwhile, ICC Vice-President Imran Khawaja also praised Jay Shah's ambitious vision for cricket.

ICC Vice-Chairman Imran Khawaja said, “On behalf of the Board, I would like to welcome Mr Jay Shah to the position and share our excitement for his tenure. Jay Shah's ambition and experience will be instrumental in guiding the ICC and the game into the future. It has been a very productive tour for everyone and we look forward to working closely with them, the members and the ICC team to achieve success.”

It is noteworthy that the former BCCI secretary replaced Greg Barclay, who has been holding the post since November 2020. Meanwhile, the ICC meeting for Champions Trophy 2025 was postponed again. There was a discussion for a few minutes today in which the ICC asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to accept the hybrid model and said that this is the only option left for them. Now the meeting will be held on 07 December 2024.
