Former fast bowler Lonwaho Tsotsobe was arrested by the South African Criminal Investigation Department on Friday 29 November. Apart from Tsotsobe, two other former players have also been arrested. These players were accused of being involved in a match-fixing scheme during the 2015/2016 domestic T-20 Ram Slam Challenge.

Cricket South Africa bans seven cricketers
According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Thami Tsolekile and Ithi Mbhalati are among the seven cricketers who were banned by Cricket South Africa for match-fixing during T20 tournaments in 2016 and 2017. Of the seven players, Ghulam Bodi has already gone to jail. Jean Sims and Pumi Matshike were given suspended sentences after pleading guilty. The three players who have been arrested recently. His hearing has been postponed till February 2025. Whereas there is no information about Alviro Peterson.

Lonwabo Tsotsobe has taken more than 100 wickets in international cricket for South Africa. He made his debut in ODI cricket in 2009 on behalf of the African team. After this, he played his last ODI match against India in 2013. Lonwabo has taken 9 wickets in Tests, 94 wickets in ODIs and a total of 18 wickets in T20 International matches for Africa.
