Pakistan Cricket in Crisis: Champions Trophy 2025 is to be hosted by Pakistan next year. There is a huge fight going on regarding this. Due to this protest, Sri Lanka's A team is now returning back to its country. He has left the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan Shaheens midway. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday (26 November) that it has discussed with the Sri Lankan board in this regard.
Pakistani team won the last match
Only after this, PCB has postponed the last two 50 over matches between Pakistan Shaheens and Sri Lanka A. The canceled matches were to be played in Rawalpindi on Wednesday and Friday. Regarding the protests, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that the army has been called to calm the atmosphere.
The last match between Pakistan Shaheens and Sri Lanka A teams was held on Monday in Islamabad, in which Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka A by 108 runs. Now the last two matches of the series were left to take place between the two teams. PCB said that a new schedule will be prepared for the remaining matches of the series, for which both the boards will work together.
Protest against Imran's release
In fact, PTI workers and their supporters were taking out a protest march till Islamabad demanding the release of Imran Khan. The government tried to stop him on the way, after which Imran supporters became furious.
For this reason, the capital of Pakistan is currently a battlefield. On one side are the supporters of Imran Khan and on the other side are the forces of General Asim Munir. The fight is going on in full swing. Imran supporters have entered Islamabad by removing the walls of containers erected on the roads to stop them. Islamabad has turned into a cantonment.
Champions Trophy to be decided on 29th November
Nothing is clear yet regarding the schedule and venue of Champions Trophy 2025 to be hosted by Pakistan next year. Meanwhile, Aaj Tak has received an important information. International Cricket Council (ICC) can hold an important meeting regarding this tournament.
This meeting can be held on Friday (29 November). Important decisions regarding the match schedule can be taken in this meeting. Then it can be announced. In this meeting it will be decided whether the Champions Trophy will be held under the hybrid model or not. Or he can be shifted to another country.
PCB is continuously preparing for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the work on the stadiums is almost complete. Whereas the Indian government has refused to send its team to Pakistan. In such a situation, the return of the Sri Lankan team can be a big blow for the Pakistani board in terms of the Champions Trophy.
