Today In History 20th November: Cricket in India has become a passion rather than a game. The history of cricket in the country is more than two hundred years old, but the Indian cricket team played its first Test match at Lord's on 25 June 1932 and India became the sixth country to play Test cricket. Today, even though India dominates all three forms of cricket, it took 23 years for India to score a double century in Test cricket. Polly Umrigar has the credit for scoring the first double century for the country. Before Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar created many records with his bat in the history of Indian cricket, but before him most of the records were in the name of Pauly Umrigar. He scored a double century for India for the first time. He accomplished this feat against New Zealand on 20 November 1955. In the year 2023, on November 20, world number one player Novak Djokovic continued his brilliant performance and won the ATP Finals tennis tournament title for a record seventh time by defeating Yannick Sinner in straight sets. Earlier, the record of winning most titles in ATP Finals was jointly held in the names of Djokovic and Roger Federer.
