Yashasvi Jaiswal Struggle Journey: There have been many such players in cricket who come from small places, struggle a lot for the game, sacrifice their childhood to fulfill their dreams and later become big stars and legendary cricketers of the country. One such young player is currently in the Indian team. He has been included in the Indian team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting from 22nd November. The story of his struggle is quite inspiring. The talent of this young player was seen by his childhood coach Jwala Singh and prepared him to play for the country. Recently, Jwala Singh told the story of the struggle of that young cricketer in an interview given to Sydney Morning Herald.
The coach recognized the talent
About a decade ago, Jwala Singh saw a boy batting without complaint on a bad pitch at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. That boy's name was Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jwala immediately realized that this boy was not ordinary. When he asked Yashasvi about his story, it came to light that he had come to Mumbai from Suriyawan in Uttar Pradesh with the dream of becoming a cricketer.
Yashasvi had told coach Jwala, “I have neither a house nor money for food. I practice cricket by living in a tent.” Jwala saw a glimpse of her childhood in Yashasvi's hard work and passion. He decided at that very moment that he would make Yashasvi a star player of India.
journey of struggle and success
Yashasvi, who reached Mumbai at the age of just 12, initially spent some time in his uncle's house, but due to lack of space, he had to live in the groundsman's tent at Azad Maidan. During this time he also did small jobs like selling golgappas and distributing milk cans.
Jwala Singh not only gave shelter to Yashasvi in his home, but also played an important role in improving his game and mentality. Jwala said- “I realized that there was something special in Yashasvi. I worked on his fitness, technique and mental strength. I was sure that one day he would play in the Indian team.”
from dream to reality
After making his Test cricket debut against West Indies in 2023, Yashasvi proved his ability. He has now become the leading batsman of the Indian Test team and has played many important innings.
Soon he will take the field against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Coach Jwala says, “Yashasvi's goal is not just to make a place in the Indian team, but he wants to become a player who will be remembered in history. I am sure he will fulfill his dreams.”
