Karachi: On one hand, Pakistan is making efforts to host the Champions Trophy and is making every possible effort to host the Indian team in its country, while on the other hand, an accident has shocked it. Pakistan Cricket Board will be shocked by the fact that after the fire in the hotel, the lives of 5 players of its women's team were in danger and somehow they were saved. After this, it took a step which is enough to blow away all its security claims. In fact, women's cricket, which is struggling to maintain its position in Pakistan, got a blow when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday Had to cut short the National Women's Championship. A fire broke out in the hotel where the teams were staying. According to local media reports, five players had a narrow escape after the fire broke out in the hotel, causing panic among the players. The report said that the PCB tried to find another venue for the teams, but due to the defense exhibition being held in Karachi, they were unable to find any alternative venue for the teams.
A source said that except five players, all the cricketers and officials were at the National Stadium either for a match or a net session when the fire broke out. PCB said that the decision to cut the tournament short was taken keeping in mind the safety and health of the players. The board official said that all the players are safe due to the fire and no one was injured. Quoting the PCB, the report said – Fortunately, no player was injured, because the PCB immediately evacuated the five players present in the hotel at the time of the incident and took them to a safe place.
After the event was shortened, the PCB decided to hold the final between the teams finishing in the top two positions in the standings after playing four matches each to determine the winner of the tournament. “To determine the tournament winner, the PCB has decided that Invincibles and Stars (the top two teams after playing four matches each) will face each other in the final,” the PCB said in a statement. The date and venue of the final will be announced in due course.
