Brig honoring the winning team of the ongoing friendly cricket tournament at GF College grounds.
Shahjahanpur. The friendly cricket tournament organized by the Cantonment Board has come to an end. The Cantt team won the winner's trophy by defeating the Army team by 11 runs in the final match on Sunday.
The Cantt Board team was led by Executive Officer Rahul Yadav and the Army team was led by Shrikant Kothari. The toss of the match was done by Brigadier Abhinandan. After winning the toss, Cantt Board team came to bat first. The team scored 123 runs in 20 overs. For Cantt Board, Sheru scored 28 runs, Irfan 17 and Pankaj 14 runs.
While bowling for the Army team, Brigadier Abhinandan took three wickets for 13 runs in two overs. Colonel Amit and Rohit took two wickets each. Coming to bat in the second innings, the Army team could score only 112 runs. Madan scored the highest score of 33, Ranjeet scored 14, Colonel Shrikant Kothari scored 13 runs.
Bowling for Cantt Board, Sheru took two wickets for 18 runs in four overs, Irfan took two wickets for 22 runs in four overs. Cantt Board team achieved a thrilling victory by 11 runs. Man of the match Pankaj (Sheru), Man of the series Colonel Amit was selected. Brigadier Abhinandan, Army Medal awarded to the winning and runner up teams. On this occasion, nominated member of Cantonment Council Awadhesh Dixit, former vice president Gajendra Gangwar, program coordinator Mayur Khanna, Sanjeev, Mohit, Haseeb, Manoj, Alok, Ashish, Madan etc. were present.
