Paonta Sahib/Sataun(Sirmour). Cricket competition has started in Giripar's pub. More than 50 teams are participating in the competition. In the first match on Saturday, Kafota School Staff team defeated Shimaldhar team by 9 wickets and entered the next round.
Organizing committee members Tota Ram Sharma, Kabul Chand, Sita Ram, Daya Ram, Jagdish, Rajesh and Geeta Ram said that more than 50 teams including those from rural areas of district Sirmaur as well as adjoining districts are participating in the competition. . The winning team will be awarded Rs 61,000 and a trophy and the runner-up will be awarded Rs 31,000 and a runner's trophy.
In the first match on Saturday, Shimaldhar team won the toss and scored 57 runs after losing 4 wickets in 6 overs. In reply, Kafota School Staff team achieved the target of 57 runs by losing one wicket in just 4.5 overs. The winning team has entered the next stage of the competition.
TR Sharma said that under the aegis of Youth Club Pab, a competition is being organized in the Pab ground under the Play Khel Nasha Chodo campaign by Shine Star Sports Club Pab. The competition was inaugurated on Saturday by Executive BDO Tilordhar Rajesh Negi. The chief guest said that it is a good step to encourage young players against drug addiction through such sports. Under the Khel Khelo, Nasha Chhodo campaign, this cricket tournament is being organized to generate inclination towards sports among the youth, which is a commendable step.
