Shahjahanpur. The friendly cricket tournament organized by the Cantonment Board at GF College ground started on Friday. The match on the first day of the three-day tournament was played between the district administration and the army team. The army team registered victory by defeating the district administration team by three wickets.

The match was started by Awadhesh Dixit, a nominated member of the Cantonment Council, by tossing the toss. The Army team won the toss and decided to field first. The district administration team, which came to bat under the leadership of ADM Administration Sanjay Pandey, scored 152 runs in 20 overs.

In this, Manik scored the maximum 46 runs, Saif 30 and Ajit 31. While bowling for the Army team under the captaincy of Colonel Shrikant Kothari, Vijay took three wickets. After this, the army team came to bat and achieved the target by losing seven wickets.

Kashish scored 45, Colonel Amit scored 20, Anil scored 22 runs. Bowling on behalf of the district administration, Manik took three wickets and Ajit took two wickets. The umpires of the match were Pankaj Tiwari, Mohammad Naeem and scorer Sahil.

A total of four teams are participating in the tournament. Apart from the district administration and army teams, GF College staff team and Cantonment Board teams are included in this. The final match of the tournament will be held on November 17. Tournament coordinators Mayur Khanna, Vineet Mishra, Gajendra Gangwar, Shravan Kumar Dixit. Dr. Vikas Khurana, Rajeshwar Dayal Pathak, Rajesh Babu, Anmol Agnihotri, Sanjay Mishra, Anand Gupta etc. were present.
