Afghanistan women cricket team: Afghanistan women's cricket team is ready to return to the field after 37 months. The Taliban had banned the Afghanistan women's cricket team, after which the women players had decided to go to Australia. Now Afghanistan women's cricket team is going to play T-20 match against Cricket Without Borders XI in Melbourne.
The competition will be held on January 30
Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley said on 15 November that many people in cricket and the community have come together to support members of the Afghanistan women's team since their relocation to Australia and that the match will be a celebration of that work.
Let us tell you that the Australian government is supporting the Afghanistan women's cricket team these days. The women's team was banned in the year 2021 after the Taliban government came to power in Afghanistan. After this the women's team stays in Canberra and Melbourne.
At the beginning of the year 2024, 17 women players had written a letter to the ICC, in which they sought help in setting up a refugee team.

In this letter it was said that our aim in forming the refugee team is to develop and showcase our talent. Our goal is to give hope to the remaining women in Afghanistan and draw attention to the challenges facing Afghan women. However, now the Afghanistan cricket team is ready to return to Australian soil after 37 months.
