Sports Desk, New Delhi. Glenn Maxwell displayed his strength and new batting skills in the first T20 match against Pakistan in Brisbane on Thursday, 14 November. He scored 43 runs in just 19 balls in the seven-over match, which included five fours and three sixes. During this time, Maxwell also completed 10000 runs in T20 cricket and became the third Australian batsman to do so in this format.
Maxwell achieved this feat during his 421st T20 innings. Became the 16th player to touch the mammoth figure of 10,000 runs in the shortest format. He played his first match in 2010. Maxwell needed just 12 runs to cross the magical figure and he did so by hitting three fours in a single over of Naseem Shah.

36 year old Maxwell has so far scored 10031 runs in 421 innings in T-20 cricket at an average of around 28, which includes seven centuries and 54 half-centuries and his strike rate is around 154. This is a big achievement for Maxwell, as he has rarely batted at the top of the order in the shorter formats.
