By now you must be aware of the story of Sanjay Bangar's son Aryan becoming an orphan. But do you know which player of world cricket is the one who has transformed from a boy to a girl even before Aryan Bangar? He is a Canadian player and his name is Daniel McGahey. Daniel is a cricketer but then an ICC rule became a hindrance in his path and he distanced himself from cricket.
ICC's rule regarding transgender cricketers
After the board meeting held in November last year, the ICC issued a statement saying that any player who changes his gender from male to female will not be allowed to play in women's cricket at the international level. Then why hasn't she undergone any surgery or gender reassignment treatment? ECB has also recently implemented the same decision. ECB has banned transgender women from playing at the top level.
Retired due to ICC rules
After the ICC rules came to light, Daniel McGahey decided to retire from cricket. The Australia-born and Canada-based cricketer, however, said that she will continue to fight for transgender equality in sports.
