New Delhi:
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday wrote a letter to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) saying that Team India will not go to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025 proposed in March next year. ICC has also forwarded the e-mail to the Pakistan government and now the government can take a tough decision on this issue.
According to Pakistan's leading newspaper Dawn, “Pakistan may withdraw itself from the Champions Trophy. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has already denied that it will not adopt the hybrid model of the tournament. And now the report claims that Pakistan The government is also considering withdrawing its team from this competition.” According to the report, “In this case, one option that the government is considering is that the PCB should ensure that the Pakistan team does not participate in the Champions Trophy.”
According to Dawn, “The ICC has assured the PCB that if the PCB adopts the hybrid model for the tournament, it will receive the full hosting fees and host most of the matches.” At the same time, according to the source, if Pakistan refuses to organize the tournament, then ICC can give the hosting of the entire tournament to South Africa. However, it is also being discussed in Pakistan media that its government has also advised not to play against India in ICC and ACC tournaments. Besides, PCB can also go to Sports Arbitration against ICC and BCCI.
