Secretary of District Cricket Association Bharatpur, Shatrughan Tiwari said that Karthik Sharma has made a place in the Rajasthan team on the basis of his excellent performance in national level competitions. Karthik had scored 500 runs in Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Recently, he scored 181 while playing a brilliant innings in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Karthik is the first player from Bharatpur district who has been directly selected in the Ranji Trophy team from the Under-19 team.
Karthik travels 15 km daily for practice.
Like every cricketer, Karthik Sharma's dream is also to play for the country. For this he is also working hard continuously. Karthik's father earns his living by giving tuition to the children. Secretary Shatrughan Tiwari told that Karthik comes to SR Academy every day by traveling 15 km by bus.
Where he practices for at least 8 hours every day. In which he sends 400 balls thrown by the bowling machine at a speed of 150 km/hour across the boundary. Tiwari told that his father makes him practice using the bowling machine at night. Before this, Karthik Sharma has also played in Under-14, 16 and Under-19 Rajasthan teams and has also done NCA.
Four teams called for trials in IPL
Apart from being an explosive batsman, Karthik Sharma is also a wicketkeeper. Therefore their demand is high. Mumbai, Rajasthan, Punjab and RCB have called for trials for IPL. Karthik has filled the form for the mega auction to be held in Saudi Arabia on 24th and 25th November. After playing the match, BCCI will decide whether Karthik will participate in the mega auction or not. Although in 2023, Karthik was called for trials by Rajasthan Royals and Punjab but due to his young age and not playing Ranji, he could not participate in the auction.
