Pakistan's dangerous bowling
Pakistan, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, won the toss and decided to bowl first and bowled out world champion Australia for just 140 runs. In front of the devastating bowling of fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, six Australian batsmen could not even reach double figures.
Australia's poor batting
The highest run bowler for Australia was Sean Abbott who scored 30 runs on 41 balls. Apart from them, Matthew Short contributed 22 runs, Aaron Hardy contributed 12 runs, Adam Zampa contributed 13 runs and Spencer Johnson contributed 12 runs. Seem Shah and Shaheen Afridi took 3-3 wickets for Pakistan. Haris Rauf took 2 wickets and Mohammad Hasnain took one wicket.
Excellent performance by Sam Ayub and Abdullah Shafiq
Pakistan achieved this modest target by taking two wickets in 26.5 overs. Once again openers Sam Ayub and Abdullah Shafiq gave an excellent start for Pakistan. Both added 84 runs for the first wicket. During this, Ayub scored 42 runs on 52 balls and Shafiq scored 37 runs on 53 balls. Both were dismissed by fast bowler Lance Morris. After this, captain Mohammad Rizwan and former captain Babar Azam batted brilliantly and took the team beyond the target. Babar scored 27 runs on 34 balls and Rizwan scored 27 runs on 30 balls.
