Star Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw turned 25 on Saturday (November 9). Prithvi Shaw was sometimes compared with former Team India opener Virender Sehwag and 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had even named Prithvi as the 'next Sachin Tendulkar' in a video. But now Prithvi Shaw's luck is not favoring him.

Now Prithvi Shaw is not getting a chance even in domestic cricket, leave alone Team India. Prithvi was dropped from the Mumbai team in the current season of Ranji Trophy. Prithvi definitely played the first two matches, but after that he was shown the door. In two Ranji matches this season, his scores were 7 and 12 (against Baroda), 1 and 39 not out (against Maharashtra).

Was Prithvi out due to excess weight?

The selectors and team management of Mumbai team believe that Prithvi Shaw is overweight. It has also been found that he does not take net practice sessions seriously and attends them irregularly. Prithvi has played five Tests, six ODIs and one T20 International for India so far. In 2018, he was adjudged 'Player of the Match' after scoring a century in his debut Test against West Indies in Rajkot.

Prithvi Shaw played his last international match on 25 July 2021. This was also his T20 International debut match. Prithvi could not even open his account in that debut T20 match played against Sri Lanka. He was out on the very first ball. That means Prithvi did not get a place in the Indian team after his T20I debut. Not only this, before the mega auction of IPL 2025, Prithvi has also been released by Delhi Capitals (DC).

Prithvi Shaw has a deep connection with controversies

If seen, Prithvi Shaw had achieved success at a very young age. In the year 2013, he played an inning of more than 500 runs in a club match in Mumbai. Then later, under his leadership, Team India won the Under-19 World Cup. He also came to Team India, but kept going in and out continuously. Along with this, he also continued to be associated with off-field controversies.

In the year 2019, Prithvi Shaw came into controversy, when BCCI banned him. There was something in his cough syrup due to which he failed the doping test. He was banned for 8 months by the board. Prithvi last played a Test match for Team India during the Australian tour of 2020-21, after which he waited for a long time to return to Team India. At that time, such news also came out that Prithvi's behavior in the dressing room was not good.

During the Corona period, Prithvi Shaw felt like taking a holiday in Goa and he took a car and left for Goa via Kolhapur. Then he was also accused of violating the rules, because he had left without an e-pass. He was stopped by the police in Amboli, Maharashtra. Then Prithvi appealed to the authorities to let him go, but they did not agree. After waiting for about an hour, Prithvi Shaw applied for e-pass through mobile, after which he got permission to go to Goa.

The year 2023 was full of difficulties for Prithvi Shaw. That year, Prithvi Shaw had a fight with social media influencer Sapna Gill and her friends in a hotel in Mumbai. Here the matter reached a scuffle, the videos of which also went viral. A case was registered in this matter on behalf of Prithvi Shaw, in which 8 people were prosecuted. Former coach of Team India encouraged

Now Australian legend and former Team India coach Greg Chappell has boosted the morale of Prithvi Shaw. Chappell said in a letter to Shaw, 'Remember that failure is part of the story of every great player. Even a legend like Don Bradman had to be out of the team and had to struggle to make a comeback. It is not avoiding challenges, but the way to face them that makes a player great.

Chappell wrote, “Prithvi, the past does not define you. What you do from here on out is what matters. You are still at your peak and have many years left in front of you to make your mark. Chappell and Prithvi meet During the Under-19 World Cup in 2018, Chappell was the talent manager of Cricket Australia (CA) and India won the title by defeating Australia in that Under-19 World Cup.
