WI vs ENGAlzari Joseph Suspended: Cricket West Indies has suspended fast bowler Alzarri Joseph for two matches for his public disagreement with captain Shai Hope over fielding decorum during the third ODI against England. West Indies won the match played on Wednesday by eight wickets and won the three-match series. During this match, Joseph had expressed his protest regarding the fielding and he left the field for some time.
There was a long argument between Joseph and Hope before the fourth over. The situation was such that the umpires had to be requested to restart the game. Joseph also got angry at Hope after a ball was played on the off side during the over. After completing the over, the fast bowler left the field but returned after some time. Cricket West Indies later issued a statement saying that Joseph's behavior was not in accordance with its set standards.
The board's director of cricket Miles Bascombe said in a statement, 'Alzarri's conduct was not in accordance with the standards set by Cricket West Indies. “This type of conduct cannot be condoned and we have taken action to ensure that the seriousness of the situation is fully acknowledged.” Joseph also accepted his mistake and apologized to Captain Hope and Cricket West Indies and accepted the punishment. Now a series of five T20 international matches will be played between West Indies and England from Saturday.
