New Delhi: The Indian cricket team is being heavily criticized after its 3-0 clean sweep in the home Test series against New Zealand. The fans are very angry with this performance of their team. Along with this, the fans have also been hurt by the disappointing performance of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The bats of both the batsmen remained silent against Bangladesh as well as New Zealand. Kohli scored 99 runs against Bangladesh and 93 runs against the Kiwi team in the entire series while Rohit scored 42 and 91. After the poor performance of both the players, they are being trolled heavily on social media. Some are even demanding his retirement. However, amid so much trolling, a former Pakistani player came out in support of both the legends.

Former Pakistani player supported Virat and Rohit

Former Pakistan player Basit Ali has defended Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He told Indian fans not to make their hero a zero. Basit Ali was asked on his YouTube channel, 'What are you talking about, remove Virat, Rohit and Ashwin. Do you have any players of his quality? Will you bring T20 player Abhishek Sharma?
In response to these questions, Basit Ali said, 'Virat and Rohit lack match practice. They need to play matches. Let him play on flat tracks, so that he stays on the pitch for at least two sessions.
He further said, 'Don't make your hero a zero. We (Pakists) speak against Babar Azam, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan. But we do not say that he should be removed from the team. He will be back in form. But to say that he should be out or End of an Era… is too much. Will cricket end if you do not reach the final of the World Test Championship?
