320 capped players will be included in the auction
It is being told that BCCI wanted to host the auction in Riyadh itself but the decision had to be changed at the last moment and now Abadi Al Johar Arena, also known as Benchmark Arena, will host the mega auction. Hotel Shangri-La Accommodation will be provided at , which is 10 minutes away from the auction venue. BCCI announced Jeddah as the venue on Tuesday. 1574 players including 320 capped players, 1224 uncapped players and 30 players from Associate Nations have registered for the mega auction. The IPL auction, one of the most anticipated events of the cricket calendar, will coincide with the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy first Test match between India and Australia.
Punjab will have the most money
Let us tell you that defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders and first season winner Rajasthan Royals have retained six players each. Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained five players each. Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings have retained four, three and two players respectively. With Rs 110.5 crore after deducting the amount of retained players, Punjab Kings will have the most money in the auction.
