Jhansi News: Railway Division Jhansi and Jai Academy have emerged victorious in the semi-final matches played in the 54th JDCA Dr. Vrindavan Lal Verma League cum Knockout Cricket Competition organized by Jhansi District Cricket Association. There will be a final match between these two teams.

On Tuesday, the first semi-final match was played between Railway Division Jhansi and AS Associates under the chief hospitality of Vivek Khatri, Director JDCA. Railway Division Jhansi, who came to bat first after winning the toss, scored 205 runs losing 3 wickets in 20 overs.

Saksham Srivastava contributed unbeaten 85 runs (10 fours, 4 sixes), Vivek Mishra contributed 72 runs (11 fours) and Mudassar contributed 33 runs (8 fours). On behalf of AS Associates, Aman Thakur took two wickets for 35 runs and Santosh Rawat took one wicket. Achieving the target of 206 runs for victory, the batsmen of AS Associates performed disappointingly and could score only 105 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. From Railway Division, Harjeet took 4 wickets for 13 runs, Vikas Bendaya took 3 wickets for 14 runs and Twinkle Solanki and Gaurav Kunte took one wicket each. Saksham Srivastava was presented with the Aastha Pharmaceuticals Player of the Match award by senior cricketer Dheeraj Tripathi.

The second semi-final match was played between Jai Academy and last year's winner Datar Nagar Parvai under the chief hospitality of JDCA member Ritesh Sharma. Datar Nagar Parvai won the toss and batted first and scored 148 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Naval Kanjar scored 46 runs (3 fours, 3 sixes), Ankesh Kumar scored 20 runs, Rupesh Kabutra scored 13 runs and Dharmendra Kanjar scored 11 runs. From Jai Academy, Anuj Tiwari took 3 wickets for 12 runs, Jitendra Dixit and Ankit Prajapati took two wickets each, Siraj Hussain and Saurabh Ghavri took one wicket each.

Jai Academy, setting a target of 149 runs to win, won by scoring 149 runs losing 3 wickets in 19.3 overs. Arpit Sahu scored unbeaten 74 runs (5 fours, 3 sixes), Jitendra Dixit batted brilliantly and scored 43 runs unbeaten (1 four, 4 sixes) and his team won the match. From Datar Nagar Parvai, Pradeep Kumar took two wickets for 23 runs and Rupesh Kabutra took one wicket. Jeetendra Dixit was presented with the Aastha Pharmaceuticals Player of the Match award by senior cricketer Imtiaz Hussain. This information was given by JDCA Secretary Ajay Mishra.
