Kagiso Rabada WTC Record: South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has achieved a new achievement. He achieved the top position in the ICC Men's Test bowling rankings due to his brilliant performance in the first match of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) series against Bangladesh in Mirpur. Rabada took 9 wickets in both the innings, due to which South Africa won by 7 wickets. 29-year-old Rabada also achieved the record of becoming the fastest South African player to take 300 Test wickets on the first day of the Test.
Rabada had earlier achieved the top ranking after a brilliant series against India at Newlands in January 2018, where he remained the number one Test bowler in the world for most of the year. Apart from Rabada, other bowlers have also improved significantly in the latest ICC rankings. Pakistan's left-arm spinner Noman Ali has made it to the top-10 for the first time in his career, jumping eight places to ninth position after taking 9 wickets in both the innings of the third Test in Rawalpindi.
With his excellent form, Santner is eyeing his career-best ranking of 39th, which he achieved in January 2017. Bangladesh's Taijul Islam has moved up three places to reach 18th position. Gus Atkinson of England is at 22nd position with an increase of two places. Pakistan's Sajid Khan has moved up by 12 places to 38th position and South Africa's Wiaan Mulder has joined the top-50 by moving up by 9 places.
