Cricket pitch started drying from Goitha
The Ranji Trophy match is being played between Bihar and Karnataka at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna. But more than the match, the method of drying the pitch is being discussed. In fact, to dry the pitch, neither fan nor dryer was used but indigenous technology was used. To keep the pitch dry in the stadium, the help of Goitha, which is also called Upala, was used. This is the same Upla or Goitha, which is burnt to make the famous Litti Chokha of Bihar. Such a sight was rarely seen on the cricket field. Got to see something that had rarely been seen before.
Helicopter was also used
This is not the first time that Jugaad has been used to dry the pitch of Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna. Earlier in 1996, during the World Cup, the Bihar government had to intervene and something happened which no one can forget till date. There was heavy rain before the match between Zimbabwe and Kenya. At that time, Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav had made helicopters fly over the stadium to dry the ground.
