Delhi: The Gambia national cricket team represents the country in international cricket and is governed by the Gambia Cricket Union. Gambian cricket was granted Associate Member status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2017, giving Gambia recognition in the world of international cricket. On Wednesday, Zimbabwe created history by making the highest team score in T20 International cricket. In the ICC T20 World Cup Africa Sub-regional Qualifier B match in Nairobi, Zimbabwe scored 344 runs by losing 4 wickets in 20 overs against Gambia. Captain Sikandar Raza's explosive century of 133* runs in 43 balls played a big role in reaching this score. Raza's innings included 7 fours and 15 sixes and he became the first Zimbabwean batsman to score a century in T20I.
The score of 344/4 is now the highest in T20 Internationals, breaking the record of 314/3 set by Nepal against Mongolia in September 2023. In this match, Zimbabwe hit 27 sixes, due to which Nepal's record of 26 sixes was also left behind. Also, the team hit 57 boundaries, which is the highest in a T20I.
In this match, Gambia team was all out for just 54 runs, due to which Zimbabwe registered a huge victory of 290 runs. This is also the biggest win in T20I.
