On September 19, the police had caught a robber Ashwini during an encounter. The names of two other associates, Mustaq and Lucky, had come forward. The police arrested Mustaq a few days later and sent him to jail, while Lucky was absconding.

After being caught, they were brought to the post.

Fatehpur Chaurasi's Ugu outpost in-charge Ajay Sharma had an investigation into this case and he was the one searching for Lucky. In the evening the post in-charge left for some work.

It is said that the policemen handcuffed the robber and made him sit in the post and started playing cricket match there. Meanwhile, the robber escaped from the post along with the handcuffs. After some time, when the soldiers came to know about his escape, the ground slipped from under their feet.

After giving information to the police station, the outpost in-charge reached the spot, severely reprimanded the constables and started searching for him.
