Mahendragarh. A three-day women's cricket competition was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Baba Rupadas Cricket Stadium in Paldi-Panihara village of the area.
The first match of the competition was played between the teams of Hisar and Gurugram. Batting first, Hisar scored 125 runs in 20 overs. For Hisar, Manisha played an inning of 54 runs and Tanika played an inning of 57 runs. Chasing the target, the Gurugram team scored 115 runs and lost by just 10 runs in this close match. Team Captain Tannu from Gurugram played a brilliant inning of 70 runs while remaining not out. In this match, Tanika of Hisar performed all-rounder and scored 57 runs and was the man of the match by taking three wickets. The second match was played between Hisar and Mahendragarh, Hisar, while batting, scored 180 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. For Hisar, Tanika played a brilliant inning of 95 runs while remaining not out. While chasing the target, Mahendragarh team was able to score 160 runs. However, even the brilliant half-century innings of Mahendragarh's Parul and Gaurika could not save the team from defeat. Hisar's Tanika was the man of the match in this match.
Coach Ravi Tanwar told that daughters from four districts are participating in this competition. On Thursday, the first match will be played between Bhiwani and Gurugram, while in the second match, the teams of Mahendragarh and Bhiwani will face each other. The competition was inaugurated by Kuldeep Contractor as the chief guest. While encouraging the daughters, he said that they should perform with patience without worrying about winning or losing in the game. Sarpanch Vijaypal Fauji, coach Ajit Dagar, Narendra Kaushik, Bhupendra Coach Bhiwani and parents of daughters were also present.
