Chad Bowes smashed fastest double hundred in List A: New Zealand opener Chad Bowes created a new record in List-A cricket by scoring a double century in just 103 balls on Wednesday. Bowes holds the record of scoring the fastest double century in this format of the game, which was previously held in the names of India's Narayan Jagadeesan and Australia's Travis Head.

South Africa-born New Zealand batsman Bowes achieved this feat while playing for Canterbury against Otago in the Ford Trophy. He was finally out after scoring 205 runs in 110 balls, which is also his highest score in List-A cricket. Jagadishan and Head had completed their respective double centuries in 114 balls.

Head achieved the feat while playing for South Australia in the 2021-22 Marsh Cup, while Tamil Nadu's Jagadeesan achieved the feat during his record-breaking innings of 277 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

32 year old Chad Bowes has played 6 ODI and 11 T20 International matches for New Zealand so far. He made his international debut last year. List-A cricket includes various domestic matches apart from One Day Internationals. Under List-A, an innings lasts from 40 to 60 overs.
