New Zealand won in India after 36 years
The New Zealand team defeated India by 8 wickets in the first match of the three-Test series at the M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru. New Zealand has won against the Indian team in Test matches at home after 36 years. Earlier, New Zealand team had won the Test match in India in 1988. Not only this, this was only the third win for New Zealand out of 37 matches against Team India on Indian soil.
After the year 2000, a foreign team got victory in India.
With the victory of New Zealand against the Indian cricket team, a new record has been created. New Zealand has become the first foreign team since 2000 to win a Test match by chasing a target of 100 or more runs in the fourth innings on Indian soil.
A shameful record made in the name of Indian team at home
In the Bengaluru Test match, Team India was all out on the score of just 46 runs in the first innings, but after this Team India scored 462 runs in its second innings. The Indian team came back strongly in the match but the team had to face defeat. Team India has lost the match despite scoring the biggest total ever at home. The Indian team has suffered this defeat after the year 2005.
Record made due to rain in India after 11 years
This is the first time since 2013 that a foreign team came to India on Indian soil and the first day of play was washed out due to rain. Earlier this had happened in Mohali. It happened for the first time in the Chennai Test of 1976 when the New Zealand team came on Indian tour, but the first day's play could not be played due to rain.
