In the first match of the three-match Test series played in Bengaluru, Team India had to face defeat by New Zealand by 8 wickets. In the match, the Indian team won the toss and decided to bat and Rohit Bigard was all out for just 46 runs in the first innings. Then in reply New Zealand scored 402/10 runs in the first innings. After this, Team India scored 462 runs in its second innings and set a target of 107 runs for New Zealand. Chasing the target, the Kiwi team won by scoring 110/2 runs. In this way, the Indian team had to face defeat by 8 wickets in the match.
