This is the first time in 43 years in the history of the Ashes series that Perth will host the first match instead of Brisbane. This match will be played between 21st and 25th November. England's record in Perth is very bad. The team has not been able to win any match at this venue for the last 46 years. England won the match here for the first and last time in 1978.
The second match of the series will be played at Gabba from 4 to 8 December. This will be a day-night test match. After this, both the teams will get rest for about 9 days. After this, the third Test match will be played in Adelaide from 17 to 21 December. And then the Boxing Day Test match will take place between 26 and 30 December. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). At the same time, the last match of the series will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) between 4 to 8 January.

The last time an Ashes campaign in Australia began in a city other than Brisbane was in 1982–83. The match was played at WACA Stadium, Perth. Australia has won the last eight Ashes Tests played in Perth. In two of these he won by innings. England's 150-run defeat was in 2013–14, when Australia again won the Ashes trophy. The second Test at the Gabba will be Brisbane's third day-night men's Test, having previously played matches against Pakistan (2016) and Sri Lanka (2019).
